A 2nd multiplier event took place in Greece on May 18, 2021. The event took place virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event targeted economics students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It was attended by 92 individuals.
Participants had the opportunity to discuss the benefits problem-based learning supported by digital technologies, in particular digital learning games. They include clean goals, compelling missions, internal motivation to engage in learning, and direct feedback that helps students understand the impact of their choices and decisions.
In addition, participants experienced a demonstration of the HERA digital learning game that promotes the development of problem solving skills through complex scenarios that challenge students to combine knowledge from diverse thematic areas for introducing solutions. Participants were invited to work collaboratively in groups towards solving a scenario for introducing an eCommerce network in a city.
Participants deployed the HERA learning game to build infrastructure and services that promote an eCommerce community, such as businesses, educational organizations, street networks, electricity, telephony, and the Internet, within specific economic frameworks by adopting complementary roles in a simulation of real-life professional activities.
The participants enjoyed the HERA learning game and the rich environment that is offers and provided positive feedback on the value added by the game for enriching higher education activities.
